As injury after injury fall upon the Bruins, more and more players from the P-Bruins are making their way into the big league. After today’s game, Daniel Paille and Tuukka Rask both left the game injured leaving more spots open. Not soon after it was announced that two Providence Bruins were being called up to travel the two game roadtrip with the team.
Goalie Michael Hutchinson will travel with the team to New York as back up goalie. This season with the P-Bruins he is 6-11-0 with a 2.62 GAA and a .920 save percentage in just 18 games. (Via NESN) This is Hutchinson’s second call up the season with the first being shortly after the all-star break last month.
This is forward Lane MacDemid‘s first NHL recall. in 57 games this season, MacDermid has tallied four goals, 10 asssists, and 106 penalty minutes. Last season, he was the 3rd leading scorer for Providence.
It’ll be interesting to see what both players have to offer and whether either will get a spot on the lineup for the matinee Rangers game.
