Beast of the Beasts: Chris Kelly

Will Chris Kelly have another big game? (Credit:Slidingsideways/Flickr)

This week the choice was quite simple based on the first couple of games in the first round of the Playoffs.  He scored the Game 1 overtime winning goal, had the honor of wearing the MVP Chain provided by Andrew Ference. Still need help? This week’s Beast of the Beasts is forward Chris Kelly. Kelly since coming to Boston has posted 22 goals and 22 assists through 106 games. This season Kelly was given the honor of being named Alternate Captain and for good reason. Kelly not only is stellar on the ice and leads by example, but he is also a strong voice in the locker room.

Kelly is the definition of a true hockey player. For example, back in February the team was in Minnesota on a road trip. In practice he took a hard hit into the boards, causing his teeth to disintegrate. Kelly, un-phased did an interview with Bruins reporter and stated it was ‘no big deal’, that his teeth were already falsies. He spent over an hour getting them fixed at a nearby dentist and was ready to play the next game. Kelly also dressed for all 82 games that the Bruins played this season.

He has the drive, the determination and the dedication, isn’t that what you look for in a ‘Beast’?
