Frozen Fenway in 2014

Remember in 2010 when the Bruins hosted the Philadelphia Flyers in the first ever Winter Classic? Well, it looks like the scene will return to Boston once again as negotiations are under way according to Red Sox executive vice president and chief operating officer Sam Kennedy.

Along with the Winter Classic they usually have collegiate hockey as well with Boston College participating against Boston Univeristy in 2010 and a double header with  UMaine against UNH and Massachusetts against Vermont last year. Each game drawing in over 38,000 fans.   In the hours between the professional and collegiate games the rink is open to high school games and public skate.  How cool is that!? I would love to be able to say that I have gone ice skating on Fenway Park!

Well, with negotiations for a new CBA seemingly headed in the right direction (finally!), this is some exciting news and something we can all look forward too. Yay for good news!
