The Boston Bruins have recalled Ryan Spooner from Providence on an emergency basis. He will join the team on Tuesday as they travel to Montreal to prepare for Wednesday night’s game against the Canadiens.
Spooner is coming off of a great weekend for the Providene Bruins, who went 3-0 for only the 2nd time this season, and are in the midst of a 5 game winning streak. He had a 3-point night on Friday in Providence’s win over Albany and recently enjoyed a 4-game point streak in which he tallied 7 total points. The streak ended on Saturday, although he still had 3 shots on net in the P-Bruins 2-0 win over Worcester.
He has 9 goals and 21 assists for 30 points, which puts him in a tie for the team lead with Jamie Tardif (also on call-up). He also has a team best +12 rating.
This is Spooner’s first ever call-up to the NHL. Good luck Spoons!
