Goaltending Match-up: Tuukka Rask in net for Boston facing off against Ondrej Pavalec for Winnipeg.
Notes: Jay Pandolfo is jumping in on the Merlot line for his first game as a Boston Bruin while Rich Peverley fills in for Milan Lucic who is back in Boston dealing with a personal matter.
Fact: Rask has a .933 save percentage a 2-0-1 record and sported 26 saves in the shootout victory against the Jets at the tail end of January.

Chara snaps his stick on a slapshot and Seguin comes all the way back and dives to block a 2-on-1 pass to help out his captain. Nice effort on the back check by Seguin, that’s what is expected at this level of play and Seguin did a great job.

Halfway through the second period and the Jets are up 1-0.
Seguin with speed against Bogosian over to Marchand to Bergeron and Pavalec somehow gets the stop on it as he goes backhand.

Bruins haven’t generated much since the opening minutes of the period, they need to really step up their offensive game if they want to pull of the win.
9:03 Zdeno Chara with a blast from the blue line and it looked as though Seguin got a tip on the shot and re-directed past Pavalec. Tie game at 1 a piece.
Play is under review to see if Seguin’s stick was above the crossbar height or not, call on the ice stands and the goal counts.

Redmond and Paille have a collision right in front of Pavalec just after Paille gets the puck to the net on the backhand.

26.3 to go in the period and Evander Kane banks in his own rebound after Seidenberg thought Horton had coverage. 2-1 Jets.
1.5 remaining vulnerable minute..nah, vulnerable 25 seconds Johnny B with a Johnny rocket and Danny Paille gets open space in front of the net to re-direct one in past Pavalec 2-2!
End of 2: Boston 2 – Jets 2 Shots on goal 22-14 in favor of Boston. No penalties during the period and the Bruins have yet to have a power play opportunity.
Marchand had a clean lane to the net and got taken down, should be a penalty shot but instead just gets a tripping call just 9 seconds into the period.
36 seconds in Bergeron to Marchand and with a goal span of 38 seconds combined with the two period Marchand backhands it and provides the Bruins with their first PPG of the game and first lead!

Chris Bourque is playing arguably his best game of the season tonight, making passes to all the right places and making his presence known.

Thornton with some gas left and he takes it all the way up with a shot that is saved. Paille comes down to try and register another one but Thornton has no more left in the tank.
Bruins have the back pressure and are capitalizing the most in the neutral zone.
Fact: Marchand’s goal is his second PPG of the season and the team’s 6th.
Rask with a save, tries to dive on it and somehow it gets loose but defense finds a way to clear it.
Jets are working the perimeter and the Bruins are able to keep with them with Pandolfo bringing it out.
Sturm with a bomb that hits the corner glass and Seidenberg scoops it out to center.
8:18 Wheeler in the middle to Ladd and thanks to quick legs from Rask there is no goal. Desperation coming from the Jets and the crowd chants have begun once more.
Penalty on Rich Peverley for tripping as the Jets will try to use their building momentum to tie the game at 3 with 6:18 remaining.

Johnny B is back on the ice in just over seven minutes to fix a broken skate.
Right at the 00:00 marker the puck is right behind Rask but it NEVER crosses the line, no goal and the Bruins win 3-2.
